| About the artist: | Alfons Karpiński (1875 - 1961) Studied at the Cracow's Fine Arts Academy, in Munich and Wien. After graduation, travelled to Italy, Paris and London. Based in Cracow, Karpiński was a member of the Polish Artists' Society "Art" and took part in numerous exhibits. In his formative years painted portraits as well as landscapes, to focus - in later years - on the floral themes. Today Karpiński is recognized as one of the most famous Polish flower-painters. His countless canvas with flowers are highly appreciated by their dimed colours as well as foggy-balanced light. | |||||||||||||||||
